Description
The Strion DS HL is a compact rechargeable LED torch with head and tail switches, rated at 700 lumens and supplied here without a charger.
Switches on both the tail and the head give a choice of grip and operating position, so the torch can be worked one-handed in a vehicle, a stairwell or a plant room.
Three output levels run from 700 lumens at 12,000 candela and 219 m of beam distance down to a 40 lumen low that lasts 24 hrs, and a strobe that runs 2.5 hours.
The body is anodised aluminium with a Borofloat glass lens, and the light is IPX4 water-resistant and tested to 2 m impact resistance.
Key features
- Head and tail switches — A switch on the tail and a switch on the head let the torch be operated in whichever hand position the job allows.
- 700 lumen high — The high setting gives 700 lumens, 12,000 candela and a 219 m beam for 1.25 hrs.
- Long low-mode runtime — Dropping to the 40 lumen low extends run time to 24 hrs, enough for a full shift of close-up work.
- Selectable strobe — A strobe setting is available and runs for 2.5 hours.
- Rechargeable lithium-ion cell — The torch runs on one lithium-ion battery of 2600 mAh at 3.63 V that recharges fully in 3.5 hours.
- Supplied without charger — This item number is the torch on its own, without a charger, for buyers who already hold the charging equipment they need.
- IPX4 and impact tested — The light is IPX4-rated water-resistant and has passed 2 m impact resistance testing.
- Compact carry size — At 16.1 cm long, 3.18 cm across the head and 153 g with battery, it carries easily on a belt or in a pocket.
Typical applications
- Patrol and vehicle work where a pocket-sized light must be ready at any moment.
- Building and perimeter searches by security teams needing a wide beam over a large area.
- Industrial inspection and maintenance in plant rooms, lift shafts and machinery spaces.
- Emergency service and utility crews working night call-outs away from fixed lighting.
