The HIKMICRO M11W is a professional handheld thermography camera built for inspection work that has to be documented. A 192 × 144 (27,648 pixels) detector and an 8 MP visual camera feed a 3.5-inch touchscreen, with on-camera measurement rules, colour alarms and voice or text annotations so the analysis happens at the asset rather than back at the desk. Two interchangeable batteries and a dual-bay charger come in the box, which is what makes a full inspection route practical. The W in the name is the wide lens: it takes in more of the scene per frame, which is what you want when surveying walls, floors and large plant rather than isolating a single component.

• Voice, text and QR code annotations — notes attached to the image at the point of capture, not written up afterwards
