8x42 roof prism binocular with extra-low dispersion glass, for hunting, birding and general field observation.
The Argos G2 UHD 8x42 sits above the HD version in the same line, with UHD extra-low dispersion glass in place of the standard glass. The result is less colour fringing on high-contrast edges — bare branches against a bright sky, or an animal on a snow line — which is where lower-priced binoculars usually give themselves away.
The 8x42 configuration is the general-purpose choice in the range: the wide field and forgiving 17.3 mm eye relief make it easy to hold steady and comfortable to use with spectacles, and the 4 m close focus covers observation well inside normal hunting distances. Phase-corrected BaK4 prisms with ESP dielectric coating handle the light transmission, and the magnesium chassis keeps the weight to 723 g.
