Description
An electronic hearing protector with slim cups and an extra wide headband, designed specifically for hunting and shooting and suited to larger head shapes.
Sordin Supreme Pro-X Slim is an electronic hearing protector designed specifically for hunting and shooting. This version has green cups and a slim leather headband, with foam cushions.
It is rated with an SNR of 27 dB and H, M and L values of H 28 dB, M 24 dB and L 20 dB under EN 352, and an NRR of 20 dB under ANSI S3.19.
Digital audio technology compresses impulse noise to a level of 82 dB(A), while harmless surrounding sound is amplified and volume controlled from an external keypad on the right-hand cup. The SordinHEAR2 sound system offers four audio profiles, and an AUX input allows a radio or another external audio source to be connected.
The headset runs on 2 x 1.5 V AAA/LR03 batteries with an estimated operating time of around 400 hours. The microphones and battery compartment are IP67 tested.
Key features
- Extra wide headband — The ARC-rail compatible mounting system enables an extra wide headband that suits larger head shapes.
- Slim cup design — The slim cups suit both right- and left-handed shooters and give efficient attenuation even when eyeglasses are worn.
- SordinHEAR2 audio profiles — SordinHEAR2 offers four selectable audio profiles: Hunter, Focus, Shooter and Ambient off.
- Impulse noise limiting — Loud impulse noise is compressed automatically to a maximum of 82 dB, while harmless ambient sound is amplified and natural in character.
- AUX audio input — A 3.5 mm AUX input connects a communication radio, a mobile phone, a hunting radio or another external audio source.
- Waterproof microphones — The externally mounted microphones are waterproof, and the design is IP67 tested with a waterproof battery compartment.
- Helmet mounting — The headset is ARC Rail compatible for helmet mounting, and a helmet adapter kit for ARC Rail is listed as an accessory.
- Battery management — The headset switches itself off after 4 hours if no button has been pressed, and warns when approximately 40 hours of battery time is left.
- Easy keypad control — Push buttons on an external keypad operate the electronic functions.
- Encapsulated electronics — The electronic circuits are encapsulated in multiple layers of lacquer and polymer for increased robustness.
Typical applications
- Hunting, where natural ambient sound helps the wearer detect faint sounds from game animals while hearing stays protected.
- Sport and range shooting, for left-handed and right-handed shooters alike.
- Helmet-mounted use on ARC Rail compatible helmets.
- Wearers with larger head shapes or eyeglasses who need a comfortable fit.
